He practiced as hospital assistant having then founded and directed the dermatological surgery and cutaneous oncology unit of the Dermatology Department in Hospital Santa Maria. He was a founding doctor of Hospital Cuf Descobertas having created and directed the Dermatology Department in this hospital. He participated on the first clinical management of Cuf Descobertas. He was the President of the Dermatology and Venereology Portuguese Society.
